Holiday Shipping Deadlines

Holiday Shipping Deadlines

The holidays are here - already! We've got some important information for anyone planning to make a holiday purchase, in terms of both ordering deadlines, international shipping, and the current global supply chain disruptions.

International Shipping

We have activated shipping to the rest of the world (*that Canada Post ships) for most products (for the time being, this excludes all hats, v-neck t-shirts, and long-sleeved t-shirts).

Our shipping costs are quite a bit higher for these orders, so we will be adding a shipping fee to all international orders - a flat rate of $10 on all such orders. These orders will be produced at one of our printing partners' Canadian facilities and shipping to the destination country, so in some cases, the recipient may incur duties or taxes (you will not be charged Canadian taxes on international orders).

If you do try to place an order and have any issues setting the shipping address to an international address, please verify that your order does not contain any excluded items and then email us at info@eastcoastafapparel.ca.

Holiday Order Deadlines

The order deadline for gifts to arrive in time for Christmas depends on what you're ordering and where it is being sent. Orders must be placed placed before 4PM Atlantic on the order deadline date if you want to be certain they will ship in time for Christmas.

Product Type Shipping to
Canada United States Europe
Regular (crewneck) t-shirts (adult unisex and child sizes), sweatshirts and hoodies, and tank tops (Canada Post)
Dec 8 Dec 10 Nov 14 (see note on delays)
All hats (toques and caps), V-neck t-shirts and long sleeve t-shirts (UPS)* Dec 7 Dec 7

*All orders shipped by UPS must include a shipping street address (no P.O. Boxes). Orders for these products without a valid street address will see a delivery delay of 3-4 days.

Orders placed after this deadline may arrive in time, but there is no way for us to guarantee that. We are already using the fastest shipping options available from each of our suppliers.

If you do miss a shipping deadline (it happens), consider our gift cards - they arrive instantly by email, come in multiple denominations, and never expire.

Holiday Shipping Delays

Canada: NONECanada Post has resumed its delivery time guarantees for parcels shipped within Canada, so you can have confidence that orders placed by the deadline will arrive on time. However, they have not resumed for international shipping, as the pandemic and its effects continue to create uncertainty around the world.

United States: NONE - One of our Canadian printing partners has set up a second facility in the U.S. All orders destined for U.S. addresses will be directed to that facility and shipped via DHL.

Rest of the world: DELAYS - Unfortunately, for the rest of the world, things are a little more complicated. To be safe, we have set an order deadline of November 14 for all orders headed outside Canada or the U.S.

However, a number of our printing partners do have operations around the world and maybe have a facility closer to your destination that can accept orders as late as Dec 8. If you do have a gift you'd like to send internationally but miss the Nov 14th deadline, please send a note to info@eastcoastafapparel.ca and with the name of the product(s) you were hoping to order, the size and colour, and we attempt to find a location that could deliver the same brand, colour and size on a tighter timeline. In some cases, prices may vary, if production costs are significantly different between our Canadian printer and their international counterparts. We will send you a draft order with the new details for you to review and finalize the order.

Supply Chain Disruptions

As you know, all types of businesses are experiencing a huge range of issues when it comes to sourcing materials and shipping them to their facilities. For online apparel stores like ours, there has also been a huge increase in order volume since the pandemic began - in other words, there are fewer t-shirts available or they are harder to get, at a time when more people than ever are trying to order them.

We have been experiencing stock outages of varying severity throughout the fall, ranging from a 1-day delay to some colours/sizes of garments not being available until February of 2022.

What this means: In many cases, we can re-route the order (or some items)  to a different supplier with inventory available, without any delay for you. For some products, we have live supplier data and can disable out-of-stock items before you make a purchase.

In some cases, we don't learn a product is out of stock until after you place an order. In these cases, we may need you to select a different colour. Any such emails will come from info@eastcoastafapparel.ca (the "From" name should be "Luke Walker, East Coast AF"), with the subject "Issue with Order #XXXX", please take the time to review it - this issue would likely be delaying at least a portion of your order.

Please get in touch if you have any questions.
